Santa Clara County Office of Education engages youth in both local and countywide positive youth development opportunities.
In partnership with the SCC Public Health Department Tobacco-free Communities, the TUPE program engages youth in positive developmental opportunities through CATT Chapters at TUPE school sites in the county. A CATT Chapter is a student-led school club that plans and implements schoolwide activities to increase their peers’ and community awareness of the harms of tobacco/nicotine use.
This Advisory Board is composed of Youth Leaders who represent a variety of youth-serving organizations or groups in Santa Clara County. Youth Board Advisors meet on a monthly-basis to give their input/advise on county initiatives that aim to address issues youth face such as drug use and bullying. Youth Board Advisors also lead their own awareness campaigns and projects to support positive youth development in the county. This Countywide Advisory Board is supported by SCCOE’s Youth Development Specialist in conjunction with organizations part of the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Services, Keeping Youth Safe Coalition.
